In Search For Hope And Their Future Through The Bleak Moment - Covid-19
I am working on the story
For 2 years, I have been covering the plight of captive elephants since the beginning of the pandemic. This project is funded by the National Geographic Society.
On a summer night, the city of Chiang Mai is silent and eerie as the businesses are shut during the pandemic. Chompoo, the pregnant elephant, along with her two elephant family members and their ethnic Karen caretaker, has recently left the tourist site, ready for a five-day journey on foot through the mountains of northern Thailand to the unfamiliar surroundings they call home. Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. May 2020.
